Espigh Family Shelter

HomeAgain's Espigh Family Shelter began serving families experiencing a housing crisis in 1981. The services offered assist families and unaccompanied women to secure and maintain permanent housing. The Family Emergency Shelter has a capacity of 27 adults and children (ages 0-18) and offers services upwards to threescore days.  Upon arrival, residents' virtually bones needs of food and rubber living space are provided. Then, clients are assessed for HomeAgain's services that include substance abuse prevention, mental health, parenting, child development, tutoring, life skills, employment, and housing search. At the cadre of our services is engagement with the clients and development of a professional relationship. The housing focused example direction process includes goal setting, treatment crises every bit these occur, setting boundaries, modeling behaviors and using customer strengths. A critical service offered to all HomeAgain's clients is assessment of needs and referrals to existing community services.

The Men's Emergency Shelter provides services to unaccompanied men experiencing homelessness for up to sixty days. The facility has a capacity to serve 20 men co-located with eight clients residing in the Veteran's Transitional Plan. It operates 365 days a year and is staffed 24 hours per day. A person's immediate needs are addressed starting time such as food, shelter and medical intendance and then that he tin brainstorm the commencement steps toward housing stability. And then, the client meets with their case manager for an assessment and jointly, the resident and instance director identify the resident's needs. A housing plan with goals and target dates for goal completion is developed.

This plan now functions under HomeAgain's Community Housing Programs and provides intensive example management, housing search aid and a short-term subsidy for qualifying households. This program is staffed by the Program Manager for Customs Housing Programs (who also provides direct service) and the iii community housing example managers who serve families. With the help of their instance managers, families select housing that meets their needs and are assisted with leasing the units. The plan abides by community standards for rapid rehousing, which includes assistance from 3 to six months following the acquisition of housing.

Since 2012, HomeAgain has offered this service to families of a varying compositions, including, but non limited to those with Veterans status. To qualify, the head of household must accept a documented inability, and the household must be homeless, as defined by HUD. HomeAgain serves roughly 20 households each year who are impacted by a disability by providing case management and a permanent housing subsidy. Each household pays thirty% of their income towards hire, and the remaining rent is subsidized past the program. This long-term, permanent subsidy, which is offered through the federal government, is provided to qualifying households for as long every bit they demand help.
